About us
About The Club The Hernando Beach Yacht Club (HBYC), founded in 1978, is comprised of individuals who love boating and living near the water. Not all our members are boaters and there is no need to own a boat to join our Yacht Club.
Currently, around 100 members make up the HBYC family. Our Officers and Board of Directors are elected annually from our membership and we operate as a Not-for-Profit organization.
We meet twice per month for dinner and hold monthly and annual events for the benefit of our membership. We love to have fun and some of our annual events are open to the public, including the HBYC Christmas Boat Parade, Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, Blessing of the Fleet, and more. The HBYC has boat slips available for member rental, dining for up to 100 people, a spacious dance floor, full bar facilities, and a full kitchen.
We are a proud member of the Yachting Club of America (YCA) and the National Association of Yacht Clubs. YCA membership includes over 700 Yacht and Sailing Clubs throughout America. As a member, the HBYC enjoys “reciprocity” with all other YCA Yacht Clubs. This means that as HBYC members, we can visit other yacht clubs all around the country!
